How does our climate compare to other golf destinations?
This is one of the most common questions we get from Tour Operators and clients alike. After having been in the Costa Daurada golf business for more than 20 years now, I can honestly say the weather here is fantastic!
The winters here are mild with very little rain. You can often play in short sleeves in December and January! To give you some examples (based on 30-year official statistics):
February | Avg Daily High Temp (C) | Days of registered rain | Rainfall (mm) |
Costa Daurada | 15,0 | 3 | 23 |
Costa del Sol | 17,7 | 5 | 55 |
Belek | 16,0 | 11 | 110 |
November | Avg Daily High Temp (C) | Days of registered rain | Rainfall (mm) |
Costa Daurada | 17,2 | 4 | 49 |
Costa del Sol | 19,9 | 5 | 95 |
Belek | 21,0 | 9 | 175 |
Conclusion: we may be a few degrees below other destinations in terms of temperature (measured in the shade!) but we get a lot less rain than other popular destinations. Also to be taken into account, our golf courses are wide and generous, so very seldom will you find yourself playing in the shade. It's always a lot varmer in the sun!
